The NHS Debate team secured an exceptional win over the weekend, guaranteeing their spot in the regional semi-finals! Attending its first ever conference-designated tournament, the team powered through the competition to claim the number one spot! “We’re very proud of this win, we’ve been working very hard! Feels good!”, said Jessica, sophomore. The tournament consisted of a wide variety of “speech events”, targeting more than just the team’s debate skills. Michael, a junior studying Robotics Engineering, took home a first place win in informative speaking. When speaking about the new events and navigating them as a team, he said, “It was a challenge! Knowing the team’s strengths really helped us early in the competition.”
