After college I wanted to move somewhere closer to the mountains, and decided to visit Joshua in Colorado. On the day I was headed home, my flight was suddenly cancelled. Joshua graciously allowed me to stay another night, and even took me to dinner that evening with some friends. Man, I'm so glad he did! I sat down at the table and there she was, my future bride Jess!

A project my team and I had been working on for months was coming due, and things were falling apart. I was feeling pretty stressed, and a friend suggested I go out to dinner to clear my head. I declined, as I had way to much work ahead of me. Thankfully, she wasn't one to take no for an answer! I am forever grateful that she changed my mind. I met the love of my life at that dinner!

It had to be perfect. Down to the last detail. Mike spent countless weeks ensuring that everything lined up exactly how he imagined. It started with renting out the lodge where they had their first date. The lodge took it upon themselves to decorate the main area in Jess's favorite colors. Since they both share a sweet tooth, Mike knew that the very best desserts were the top choice for the special day.

He had the chef create custom flavors and designs, tailored to Jess's tastes. Finally the day came, and everything was perfect. Mike and Jess sat near the large windows overlooking the trees. A fireplace was lit near them while snow started to fall gently outside. It was in that moment that Mike proposed.
